Vessel: 62m World Cruising Expedition Yacht

Start: Mid June

Contract: When guests are onboard (guaranteed 6 months a year)

Salary: DOE - Paid for only your time onboard

Experience: 2 years minimum yachting

This 62m world cruising expedition yacht, is currently looking for a head chef to join them onboard in mid June. As  mentioned they are a world cruising expedition Yacht, so the right candidate must understand provisioning in some of the isolated locations we visit can be the biggest challenge. There is also some significant travel involved depending on where the Yacht is located. The role will be best suited to someone who is happy to join for periods of guest use, then go on leave when they switch to a steward/cook preparing meals for crew. The contract is stated similarly to a rotation contract, but you will not be on rotation with the other chef, but rather handing the Galley over to the Steward/Cook. The captain guarantees 6 months of time onboard and budget for up to 8 months. So you will only be paid for your time onboard, but will be paid a decent salary for doing so. When guests are not onboard, you need to understand that you will be on standby. Please note that the position start date is not until June, so take this into consideration before applying. And only apply if you are as flexible as the job describes.
