ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: Previous private house experience, flexibility to travel, team player, strong communication skills attention to detail and organised.

An experienced private household Chef is required for a family based in Johannesburg (Gauteng). You should have experience making healthy low-calorie meals that are tasteful and presentable. This is a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children aged 8 and 12 years. You will be cooking for the family on a daily basis and occasionally for the Au Pair. You will be required to cater for dinner parties for up to 15 guests once or twice a month. All meals should be seasonal and you will be required to source the best organic and fresh produce from local businesses. Proficiency in crafting healthy, gourmet meals with a focus on diverse culinary styles.

To do:

• Develop and execute menus that reflect the tastes and preferences of the principals and produce beautifully present cuisine.

• Create an international repertoire to cater to diverse culinary preferences, ensuring an exceptional dining experience for the principals and their guests.

• Oversee all aspects of the kitchen operation, including menu planning, sourcing of ingredients, and provisioning, stock and fridge management.

Develop relationships with various suppliers and vendors for procurement.

• Manage the kitchen budget effectively, ensuring cost-efficient procurement of high-quality ingredients while maintaining exceptional culinary standards.

• Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment, adhering to strict sanitation and safety standards.

• Accommodate any dietary restrictions or preferences of the principals and their guests, ensuring personalised and tailored culinary experiences.

Although the role is based in Johannesburg, they also have an additional home in Durban. So the family would like someone who can be flexible and travel with them from time to time.

Additional staff which include housekeepers, an Au pair, estate staff and security are employed so you must be used to working within a team environment. This is a pet friendly household with two dogs. Negotiable salary. Single accommodation provided. Immediate start.
